Giving Back | Heifer International
For the past several years, a Blade of Grass has been donating to Heifer International – an amazing organization that is “working to end hunger and poverty around the world by providing livestock and training to struggling communities.” In an effort to include our clients in this charity, we also make contributions for each word-of-mouth referral they generate (they really add up!). The tally is in and our contribution for 2016 is: 24 flocks of chickens, 7 goats, 3 alpacas, and 3 llamas. Congrats to all – it really feels great to be a small part of this effort.

Newton Backyard a Delight of Wildlife and Plantings | Boston.com
A small Newton backyard was transformed into a richly planted, lawn-free family landscape designed to support wildlife, outdoor play, and year-round discovery. The owners wanted an alternative to a chemical-dependent lawn, so our design focused on habitat, privacy, and a series of engaging spaces for their children, including paths, a patio, screening plantings, and a koi pond. Despite the site’s modest size, the landscape was carefully programmed to feel immersive and connected to the neighboring conservation land.
